Lee & Betty Embree Memorial Scholarship

APPLICATION & CRITERIA

This scholarship is given to honor the two people that were the most instrumental in bringing this Junior Livestock Auction to youth in Clallam County. Scholarship is awarded annually each May to a graduating senior or seniors.
Scholarship application and record book is due by April 1.

Requirements

  1. Senior in high school and meets graduation requirements.
  2. Must have participated in the previous 2 years CCJLA qualifying activities. (10th, 11th and 12th grades)
  3. CCJLA participant that has met all the mandatory requirements of the CCJLA and sold in current and prior auctions
  4. Application and record book must be submitted by April 1st to the CCJLA Committee.

Items to include

  1. Application
  2. 250-word essay telling how you have grown through your involvement in your livestock project(s).
    Also how have you been involved in the CCJLA: (Example, participated in presentations about the CCJLA to service groups)
  3. Record Book/ FFA Project Book: This is a critical part of the scholarship selection.
    It should be neat and complete and show growth of the project. Current year should be up to date.
    Include the previous 2 years of project sections.
  4. Recommendation letters. One from your FFA Advisor/Leader/Grange Advisor. One from a non-family member.

Information:
This scholarship must be used within 24 months of the September following the award. Scholarship may be applied to any college or vocational technical school.
Scholarship maximums will be limited to funding available and will be awarded in equal amounts. The maximum awarded will be as follows:

  • One qualified applicant: $1,000.00
  • Two qualified applicants: $ 750.00 each
  • Three qualified applicants: $ 500.00 each
